It’s funny how fights can begin and things can get blown out of proportion and, all of a sudden, you find yourself in the middle of a conversation you never wanted to be a part of in the first place — all because of social media.

Just ask Blake Shelton.

Recently, the country music superstar found himself in quite a controversy as some fans went into all-out outrage mode when they heard the news that Blake’s concert, originally scheduled for August 19 at East Carolina University, was going to be postponed, according to “The News & Observer.” The stadium show, which was reportedly bumped due to concerns over possible field condition before football season, was moved to April 21, 2018, but Blake will not be able to appear due to his commitment to “The Voice” at that time. Nevertheless, Blake noticed the fan backlash on Twitter, so he quickly weighed in.

“The cancelation had NOTHING to do with me,” Blake wrote on his Twitter page August 4. “I was ready to play the show. I love Greenville and will figure out a way to come there and play!

He went on to say, “I wanna be clear that the Greenville concert cancel had NOTHING to do w me/my camp. I was ready to play! I love Greenville Ill be back ASAP!”

Of course, leave it to Blake to keep things light, no matter the situation.

“Isn’t that the damn truth,” Blake told a fan who mentioned that artists usually are not made aware of such scheduling changes. “In fact, I’m not real sure where the hell I am right now!”
