Thousands of singers and guitar pickers move to Nashville every year trying to make it as country stars. Only a small handful even get a shot at getting on the radio, and fewer still become bona fide country stars.
For those who do make it to country superstardom, the payoff is nothing short of spectacular. Sure, there’s the love you get from all those country fans, but there’s also the cold hard cash you get to put in your bank account.
“Forbes” just released its list of the World’s Highest-Paid Country Musicians for 2017, and Garth Brooks leads the pack with an estimated $60 million coming in from his concerts and other music ventures. His “World Tour” has been on the road in North America since 2014, and Garth continues to sell out multiple shows in every city where he plays.
Kenny Chesney is second on the list with an estimated $42.5 million made from his concerts as well as his other businesses such as his Blue Chair Bay rum line. Luke Bryan took in $42 million for a third-place finish.
Here is the rest of the “Forbes” list:
4. Dolly Parton, $37 million
5. (tie) Toby Keith, $34.5 million
5. (tie) Florida Georgia Line, $34.5 million
7. Jason Aldean, $32.5 million
8. Blake Shelton, $31.5 million
9. Keith Urban, $30 million
10. (tie) Zac Brown Band, $25 million
10. (tie) Eric Church, $25 million
Of note, the “Forbes” list is based on figures from publicly disclosed sales figures, as well as the magazine’s independent research.
